The Juno Awards were in Winnipeg this weekend and it was quite the event! I didn't go to the award show, unfortunately, but I did participate at JUNOfest, which is basically a 2-day music festival with over 100 artists at over 15 different venues. I was volunteering at The Pyramid Cabaret and got to see some really fantastic Canadian bands! It was so worth being up until 3am!
Since I wasn't allowed to take any pictures of the bands (what a stupid rule), I put the music video of two of my favourites from this weekend: Rah Rah and Born Ruffians.

Whenever I read your blog i am overcome by this very urgent need to visit winnipeg, because I can't get my head around it. (spoken like an American, right?) my canadian relatives make it sound like everyone and their mother has been to winnipeg and then i read your blog and feel very out of the loop. But hey, I've heard of the Juno Awards, so that's something, right??
ReplyDeleteHaha well Winnipeg has its moments! At least you've heard of the Junos and of Winnipeg (some people don't even know it exists)!
ReplyDeleteawesome! I hear the Born Ruffians were killer.
